This home is situated in Downtown Lake Placid NY, and is designed with a splaying, boomerang-like footprint, with each wing taking advantage of views of a different mountain range. The house perches on a peninsula- like site looking down Mirror Lake to the village. This lake hosts the Ironman triathalon, and the swim event virtually comes to its shoreline.
The home is designed with reclaimed white oak floors, walls, and ceilings, has a glass and timber elevator emulating that from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! The elevator supports a timber stairway. The chimney contains 5 fireplaces, a tunnel passage, and a small desk alcove off of the guest room. The stone floors on the lower level are naturally rippled fossilized lake bed.
